Richards Hits 2 home runs in LumberKings Win
LumberKings first baseman Jerry Richards left his mark on his team's 8-3 win over the Dayton Dragons. Richards belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for Clinton in the contest. Stan Valentine earned the win to go to 3-1. He allowed 3 runs on 9 hits, with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts in 8.2 innings of work. The Dragons, now 15-20, have lost 4 in a row.

Marc Reynolds had a big 3-run home run for the LumberKings in the top of the seventh inning. With Clinton leading 5-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a curveball from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Ron Brooks and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the LumberKings on top, 8-2.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Clinton skipper Clay Buchholz.
