Dave Johnson, who is rated as the 80th best prospect by BNN, was locked in. The right-hander led the Beloit Snappers to a 6-2 win against the South Bend Cubs at Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium. Johnson got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 8 hits and walked 3 over 9 innings. He allowed 2 runs.

Beloit used a well-timed hit by Orlando Santos to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Snappers ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
