Due in large part to third baseman Tynan Cotto, the Lansing Lugnuts sunk the South Bend Cubs, 6-5. Cotto went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Lansing reliever Jim Barber picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Bob Johnstone was saddled with the loss. Today's win puts Lansing at 17-20, while South Bend falls to 18-19.

Tae-gyoon Hong was the walk-off hero for Lansing. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Lugnuts pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said South Bend manager Mike Brumley. "But we decided not to take it."
