Both teams had their chances, but the Dayton Dragons eventually prevailed.

The Dayton Dragons topped the Lansing Lugnuts by a score of 4-3. Leading the way was second baseman Lou Sweeney. Sweeney was 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Dragons. Dayton reliever Ron Carter picked up the win to move to 2-2. Buddy Paige suffered the loss. Earning his 12th save of the year was Juan Sánchez.

Isaac Wilhelm found himself in a pressure situation in the top of the eighth. Facing Lansing hurler Buddy Paige, the 20-year-old designated hitter hit a sacrifice fly. His 12th RBI of the season put the Dragons on top, 4-3.

"I really like what we did out there today," Wilhelm said after the game.

By defeating Lansing, the third-place Dragons improved to 21-20.
