The Lansing Lugnuts topped the Dayton Dragons, 8-4, in Midwest League action at Cooley Law School Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Lansing pitcher and Portland, Oregon, native Bob Davis. Davis, now 3-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The win hiked the Lansing record to 21-21.

António León had a big 2-run double for the Lugnuts in the bottom of the second inning. With Lansing trailing 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from António Lara and swatted a double to left. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lugnuts ahead, 2-1.

In postgame comments, Davis told the Lansing Times: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
