The Great Lakes Loons beat the South Bend Cubs, 19-10, at Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium. Great Lakes right fielder Alfredo Hernández had an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 6 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Chris Ramsey picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 9. Hernández got the Loons off to a quick start. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single.
