The Beloit Snappers defeated the Burlington Bees, 5-3, at Community Field. Beloit shortstop Hank Hembrow had a superb performance. He went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Dana Everhart, the winner, is now 3-1. He struck out 5 and walked 1 over 7 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. The Snappers bumped their record to 24-19 with this latest triumph.

Hembrow contributed in the top of the fifth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Beloit get the win.

"I guess we'll all be a happy family for at least one day," said Hembrow.
