Lugnuts Come Back Late to Top TinCaps, 6-5
The Fort Wayne TinCaps could not turn a fine performance from shortstop Daniel Vega into a win. Instead, the Lansing Lugnuts prevailed, 6-5. Vega went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Lansing now has a record of 23-21 with the win.

With the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth, Ed Boatman delivered the knockout blow when he hit a run-scoring single to win it for Lansing. In the contest, Boatman went 1-5.

"You need to show up when your number's called," said Boatman.
