Peoria Absorbs 3-2 Loss to Cedar Rapids
The Cedar Rapids Kernels defeated the Peoria Chiefs, 3-2, in Midwest League action at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Cedar Rapids pitcher Josh Peterson had a standout performance. The Kernels, at 26-19, lead by one game in their division.

Cedar Rapids took a 3-2 lead on Cristián Cristan's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Cristan hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Peoria pitcher José Vargas visibly frustrated.

"I thought we played some darn good baseball," said Kernels manager Bobby Chouinard.
