Valentine Flummoxes Chiefs in 6-2 Win
The Clinton LumberKings picked up a win at Alliant Energy Field, dropping the Peoria Chiefs, 6-2. Stan Valentine, who is tied for 9th in the MID with a 1.25 WHIP, was the difference-maker. Clinton raised its record to 26-19 with the win.

Valentine tossed 112 pitches over 9 innings to clinch the win for the LumberKings. The right-hander allowed just 4 hits, while racking up 10 strikeouts in the game.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Valentine.
