Lake County and Lansing duked it out and the Captains came out victorious.

The Lake County Captains topped the Lansing Lugnuts, 6-4, in Midwest League action at Classic Park. The standout performance belonged to Lake County pitcher and Winter Gardens, California, native José Vázquez. Vázquez picked up the win for Lake County, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0.

Lou Weber had a big 2-run triple for the Captains in the bottom of the eighth inning. With Lake County leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Vic Banks and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Captains ahead, 5-0.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Weber told the Lake County Gazette.

The loss makes Lansing 22-29.
