Ben Crews pitched well, but the Great Lakes Loons still fell short, losing, 3-2, to the Dayton Dragons at Fifth Third Field. Dayton pitcher Joe Johnson got the win, upping his record to 4-4. Ben Crews got the loss. With the win, Dayton pushed its record to 27-26.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Dragons had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when designated hitter Isaac Wilhelm hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Ben Crews and made the score 2-1, Dragons. Wilhelm was 1-4.

Wilhelm called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
