The Cedar Rapids Kernels withstood an impressive performance by Burlington designated hitter Bernardo Flores to defeat the Bees, 6-5, at Community Field. Flores was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. Cedar Rapids took a 2-1 lead on Sergio Ávila's 2nd triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Ávila hit in the top of the seventh, left Burlington pitcher Ben Powell visibly frustrated.
