Captains Rally to Win, 3-2
The Captains earned a hard-fought, 3-2 win in 18 innings at Cooley Law School Stadium. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Lansing pitcher Ignacio Benítez. Benítez went 8 innings and allowed no runs. The Captains improved their record to 30-27 with the win over Lansing.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the 18th, with the game tied, Mario Gil was at the plate when Lake County scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Captains to go in front, 3-2.

"No one wins," Gil said, "without the will to win."
