Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the West Michigan Whitecaps and the Fort Wayne TinCaps. West Michigan won it, 3-1. West Michigan starter Jorge Domínguez was in command. Domínguez, now 7-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 10, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Chris Whittemore sewed up the save, his 15th.

West Michigan used a clutch at-bat from Tony Boggs to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Whitecaps ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Fort Wayne manager Yunir Garcia. "Obviously."

West Michigan is rocking and rolling at 41-16.
