In a remarkable performance, Lansing Lugnuts starter Bob Davis beat the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 6-0, in an impressive 5-hit shutout.

"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."

The Lugnuts hurler finished with 9 strikeouts and 2 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.

"It was a rough one for my guys," Fort Wayne manager Yunir Garcia said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."

This year, Bob Davis has made no relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 6-2 won-lost mark and a 2.93 ERA. In pitching 95.1 innings, he has totaled 89 strikeouts and 22 walks.
