Chiefs Get 4th Straight Win with Late Rally
The Burlington Bees got a superb performance from pitcher José Álvarez, but the Peoria Chiefs still won the game, 3-1. Álvarez threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. Peoria reliever Andy Reeves snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Juan Romano shouldered the loss. Víctor Gutiérrez earned the save, his 4th, for the Chiefs.

Ron Sharpe drove in one run for Peoria. With no one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Sharpe had a clutch at-bat. Facing Burlington hurler Juan Romano, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Chiefs a 2-1 lead.

"Winning never gets dull," said Sharpe.
