The Clinton LumberKings spoiled a good performance by Quad Cities first baseman Bobby O'Day, bumping off Quad Cities, 4-2, at Modern Woodmen Park. O'Day went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Robinson Martínez, the winner, goes to 3-6. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with 4 walks and 6 strikeouts over 6 innings. Don Brown picked up his 2nd save of the season.

Curt Collier had a direct impact on the outcome. Collier contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Clinton up, 4-2.
