José Ruíz, who is tied for 6th in the MID in complete games with 1, was locked in. The left-hander led the Quad Cities River Bandits to a 4-3 win against the Burlington Bees at Community Field. Luis Hernández picked up the win in relief. Ben Powell took the loss for Burlington. Ben Campbell picked up his 9th save of the season.

Quad Cities used the timely hitting of António Méndez to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the River Bandits on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It was a good effort all around," said Ruíz.

The Bees, at 25-37, have lost 5 in a row.
