A 3-RBI performance from center fielder Ron Ray led the Burlington Bees to a win over the Quad Cities River Bandits, 12-4. The winning pitcher was Jon Suárez. His record now stands at 2-0. The right-hander went 8.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits for the Bees. Burlington is now 36-28, while Quad Cities is 29-35.

Jesús Cabrera had a big 3-run home run for the Bees in the top of the third inning. With Burlington leading 3-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from Jorge Martínez, who is tied for 3rd in the MID with a 10.4 K/9 rate, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Bees on top, 6-0.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Ray told the Burlington Citizen.
