The Fort Wayne TinCaps did just enough to sneak past the Dayton Dragons, 6-5, at Fifth Third Field. Fort Wayne pitcher Ron Whelan, in particular, had a standout performance. Earning his 3rd save for Fort Wayne was Abdul-Qahhar bin Sadaqat. The loss makes Dayton 31-33.

It could have been a different outcome for Fort Wayne, had it not been for Esteban Galló, the 26-year old second baseman . Galló contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Fort Wayne up, 6-2.

"Ron did what Ron does," said Fort Wayne manager Yunir Garcia.
