Whitecaps Turn Back Lake County, 2-1
The West Michigan Whitecaps earned a close win over the Lake County Captains, thanks in part to Greg Carr. The West Michigan left-hander, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2022 draft, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Chris Whittemore notched his 17th save in 23 chances. With the victory, the Whitecaps upped their record to 45-21.

West Michigan used a well-timed hit by Dave Miller to capture the win. The third baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Whitecaps ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Greg did a really nice job of taking the ball and giving us a chance to win the game," said West Michigan manager James Russell.
