The performance of Jamal Marchant proved critical in helping Lansing beat Great Lakes, 11-7, in 10 innings. The Lugnuts center fielder went 6-6 with a triple, a double, and 4 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Lansing reliever Eugene Howe picked up the win, raising his record to 3-3. Jarrod Lane was tagged with the loss. Lansing now has a record of 36-31 with the win.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Marchant delivered big-time for Lansing, stroking a dramatic run-scoring double off Jarrod Lane. The game-changing hit put the Lugnuts on top, 8-7.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said Great Lakes manager Emilio Bonifacio.
