The Burlington Bees could not turn a fine performance from center fielder Dominic Mason into a win. Instead, the Clinton LumberKings prevailed, 4-3. Mason went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Clinton goes to 31-37, Burlington to 27-41.

Clinton used the timely hitting of Steve Irvin to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the LumberKings on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

Burlington manager Danny Valencia said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
