The rain came, as predicted, but the Cedar Rapids Kernels and Kane County Cougars were able to complete their ballgame.

The Cedar Rapids Kernels defeated the Kane County Cougars by the score of 8-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Luis Hernández. Hernández was 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI for the Kernels on the day. Bob Head went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. The right-hander struck out 5 and walked 2.
