A good performance from catcher Elroy Long helped the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers defeat the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 5-4. Long was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs for the Timber Rattlers. Earning his 6th save for Wisconsin was Yasunari Kato. The first-place Kernels have lost 4 straight games.

Jesús Rocha had a big 2-run triple for the Timber Rattlers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Wisconsin leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Stu Turner, who is tied for 6th in the MID with a 1.25 WHIP, and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Timber Rattlers ahead, 4-1.
