TinCaps Win, 7-5, at Lake County
|
The Fort Wayne TinCaps beat the Lake County Captains, 7-5, at Classic Park. The win was due in part to center fielder Randy Clark, who was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Fort Wayne starter Jerry Weaver was credited with the win after throwing 99 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 8-5. Fort Wayne has a record of 40-43, placing them 6th in the Eastern Division.
The TinCaps got a big hit from right fielder Luis Árias. Facing Lake County pitcher Juan Sánchez in the top of the eighth, Árias pounded a 2-run home run to right. His 5th home run of the season put the TinCaps ahead, 7-0.
