Down Goes Dayton, 3-0
|
South Bend Cubs starter Tomás Morín hurled his team past the Dayton Dragons, 3-0. Picking up his 1st save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Glenn Hughes. The win elevated the Cubs to 45-38.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Robinson Paz? The 22-year old center fielder Paz stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put South Bend up, 3-0. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"When Tomás is on, he can really move the ball around," said South Bend manager Mike Brumley.
