Extra-Inning Win by Cubs Over Dragons
The South Bend Cubs wiggled past the Dayton Dragons, 8-7, at Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium. The win was highlighted by the performance of South Bend pitcher Sammy Madden. South Bend is now 34-51, Dayton 40-45.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the tenth for South Bend. That's when Bob Lambert hit a run-scoring double off 22-year old left-handed pitcher Juan Sánchez to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Lambert said.
