Whitecaps Get Plucky, 7-6 Win Over Dragons
The West Michigan Whitecaps topped the Dayton Dragons, 7-6, with right fielder Tony Boggs playing a big role. Boggs was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Whitecaps in the win. Chris Whittemore, who is tied for 2nd in the MID in saves with 20, picked up the win in relief. Josh Means took the loss for Dayton. West Michigan, at 57-29, is 10 games up in the Eastern Division.

Dan Babb was the walk-off hero for West Michigan. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Whitecaps shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"This place sure got loud," said James Russell, the West Michigan manager.
