The Kane County Cougars locked up a win at Philip B. Elfstrom Stadium, knocking off the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, 5-2. On the mound for Kane County was right-hander Jesús Fonseca. He played a major role in the triumph. Jerry Rhodes picked up the save, his 23rd. The losses continue to pile up for Wisconsin, which has now fallen 12 times in a row.

The Cougars got a big at-bat from shortstop Mike Cole. For the game, Cole went 2 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 16th double of the season gave Kane County a 3-2 lead.

"It was a good effort all around," said Cole.
