The West Michigan Whitecaps tallied a win at Alliant Energy Field, throttling the Clinton LumberKings, 7-1. Starting pitcher Augusto Pérez was a big reason for his team's success. The Whitecaps have an impressive 62-32 record.

The Whitecaps picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Pérez told the West Michigan Citizen.
