Chiefs 5-0 Winners Versus Great Lakes
Dow Diamond was the site for Midwest League action featuring the Great Lakes Loons and Peoria Chiefs.

The Peoria Chiefs went home winners at Dow Diamond, thanks in large part to starter Ned Kane. Kane stifled the Great Lakes Loons, enabling Peoria to grab the 5-0 win. Kane got the win, improving to 7-7. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. He allowed no runs.

The Chiefs got a big at-bat from third baseman Jared Rhodes. For the game, Rhodes was 1 for 5 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 3rd triple of the season gave Peoria a 2-0 lead.

Rhodes told a Peoria Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.

The Chiefs now have a record of 56-39.
