Fans watched the West Michigan Whitecaps and the Quad Cities River Bandits fight to the finish.

In a low-scoring clash between West Michigan and Quad Cities, pitcher Sandy Lowe was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned praise for his performance in the 3-2 Whitecaps win. West Michigan has run its win streak to 4 straight.

West Michigan got a knockout punch from Balduíno Vecchi. The left fielder hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" West Michigan manager James Russell said.
