The Lake County Captains had to overcome a big game from Lansing designated hitter Andy Cook to leave Cooley Law School Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning, 5-2. Cook went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles. Ken Martínez picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-9. He struck out 6 in 5 innings. Lake County has rattled off 5 straight wins.

Don Hoffman hit a 2-run triple off Dorian Abbott in the top of the fourth, which put the Captains in front, 3-2. Hoffman had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 2.
