Snappers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Bees, 3-1
|
The Beloit Snappers beat the Burlington Bees, 3-1, at Community Field. Starting pitcher Dani Mendoza was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Beloit now sits at 55-51, while Burlington falls to 61-45.
Beloit used the timely hitting of Luis López to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Snappers on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Snappers manager Nelson Liriano.
