Cougars Get Extra-Inning, 4-3 Win
|
The performance of Norberto Muñóz proved critical in helping Kane County beat Cedar Rapids, 4-3. The Cougars first baseman was 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Kane County pitcher Edgardo Herrera got the win, upping his record to 2-1. Johnny Rollins got the loss. The Cougars improved to 46-61.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Kane County third baseman Mike Richards, facing Johnny Rollins, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Cougars the 4-3 win.
"It was terrific getting this win," Richards said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
