The Lake County Captains topped the Great Lakes Loons, 7-5, at Classic Park. Lake County designated hitter Rob Brooks was a spark plug for the offense. He went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Jesús Gómez, the winner, is now 6-9. He struck out 5 and walked 1 over 6 innings, while allowing 5 runs on 7 hits. Earning his 13th save of the year was Jesús Ávila.

With Lake County leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Brooks hit a fastball from Ben Crews for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Captains ahead, 4-0.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Brooks.

With the win, Lake County raised its record to 58-50.
