The Kane County Cougars topped the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, 6-2, in Midwest League action at Philip B. Elfstrom Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Kane County pitcher and Punto Fijo, Venezuela, native Alfredo Gómez. The Cougars sport a record of 39-71.

Making an impact for the home team was Rod Pollock. In the bottom of the fifth, the 25-year old catcher had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 4-2, Cougars.
