West Michigan Upended, 6-2, by Great Lakes
Great Lakes picked up a win at Dow Diamond, bumping off the West Michigan Whitecaps, 6-2. Pitcher Joe James was a major reason the Loons emerged victorious. Jarrod Lane was credited with the save, his 22nd in 32 tries. Today's win puts Great Lakes at 49-62, while West Michigan falls to 75-36.

Rob Montgomery had a big 2-run double for the Loons in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Great Lakes leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from Mike Jensen and swatted a double to left. It was his 20th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Loons ahead, 3-0.

"No complaints from me," said Loons manager Emilio Bonifacio. "I like what I saw out there."
