Pitcher Isaac Wilhelm was sensational for the Dayton Dragons in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Fort Wayne TinCaps. Wilhelm earned the win. Juan Sánchez got the save, his 32nd in 37 chances. The 5th-place Dragons have won 4 consecutive games.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Dragons had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when right fielder Steve Smith hit a run-scoring single. The single came off José Aloniz and made the score 1-0, Dragons. Smith was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Fort Wayne manager Yunir Garcia. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
