Lewis Excels, But Captains Win
The Lake County Captains and Lansing Lugnuts obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

Despite a great performance by Lansing second baseman Kevin Lewis, the Lake County Captains defeated the Lugnuts by the score of 6-5 at Classic Park. Lewis was 3-4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Lake County reliever Steve Cox got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Dorian Abbott was tagged with the loss. Mike Tyler, credited with the save, is now 2 for 2 in save opportunities.

The Captains got a big at-bat from catcher Andy Williams. For the game, Williams was 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 22nd double of the season gave Lake County a 5-4 lead.

"We take it day by day here," said Williams, "and today was a good one for us."

The victory gives Lake County a record of 62-53.
