LumberKings Send Beloit Home with 6-4 Loss
The Clinton LumberKings racked up a win at Alliant Energy Field, bumping off the Beloit Snappers, 6-4. Stan Valentine, who started for Clinton, pitched effectively for his team. Valentine, now 14-5, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. The save went to Marlon Lyons, number 3 for him.

Rob Brown could have done more damage. In the top of the ninth, with Beloit trailing 6-3, Beloit had runners on 1st and 3rd. That's when Brown grounded out, driving in 1 run. But it was not enough. Clinton would go on to win the game.

The LumberKings move to 66-49 with the win, while the Snappers drop to 59-56.
