Boyd Crafts 2-0 Shutout Versus Syracuse
Wednesday, May 6th , 2026
Curt Boyd was in a mood to talk following the Rochester Red Wings contest against the Syracuse Chiefs, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Chiefs, 2-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Boyd said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Syracuse on a 3-hitter, allowing no walks and racking up 11 strikeouts.
This year, Boyd has fashioned a 1-3 mark, 2.81 ERA and pitched 41.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .247 against him and he has logged 45 strikeouts.
