Behind Jackson, Syracuse Blanks Buffalo, 1-0
Thursday, June 18th , 2026
The Buffalo Bisons manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Syracuse Chiefs. The Bisons were overpowered by Syracuse starter Clarence Jackson, who hurled his club to victory, 1-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Mark Budzinski said.
Over 6 innings, Jackson blanked Buffalo on 1 hit with no walks and 4 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Jackson said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
This year, Jackson has registered 8 wins and 4 losses in 15 starts with a 2.26 ERA while registering 108 strikeouts and 26 walks in 103.1 innings.
