McGrath on a Tear, Hits for Cycle Monday, June 29th , 2026 It was a special day for Joe McGrath at Louisville Slugger Stadium. Not only did McGrath's Gwinnett Hammers beat the Louisville Bats, 9-6, but the left fielder hit for the cycle along the way. The 30-year-old McGrath racked up 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to get his name in the record books. For the game, he went 4-for-5 with 5 runs batted in and 2 runs scored. "He hit everything we threw," said Bats manager Jose Leger. "There was just no getting him out today." Speaking to the press after the game, McGrath said his goal for the day had been to look for "first pitch fastballs." "I got some good looks today," he said. Joe McGrath grounded out in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Joel York in the 8th.
