"Phil was just locating so well and using his pitches," Scranton WB manager Chad Jones said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate." Gilbert recorded 7 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing. "When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Gwinnett manager Ron Warner said in postgame comments to BNN.
