Lehigh Valley-Syracuse Fight Results in Suspensions Friday, August 7th , 2026 Yesterday at NBT Bank Stadium Gus Manley and Walt Powers got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Syracuse Chiefs. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Manley will have to sit out 3 while Powers would be given a 7-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. Manley is hitting .325 this season with 3 home runs, 30 RBIs and 30 runs scored. He has 74 hits in 228 at-bats. Crunching the numbers on Powers for the year, he has made 16 relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 1-3 won-lost mark and 5.96 ERA. In pitching 51.1 innings, he has totaled 36 strikeouts and 23 walks. |
