Skaggs Tosses Shutout Against Lehigh Valley Monday, August 10th , 2026 The Lehigh Valley IronPigs manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Charlotte Knights. The IronPigs were overpowered by Charlotte starter Tyler Skaggs, who hurled his club to victory, 5-0. "It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," John Valentin said. Over 9 innings, Skaggs blanked Lehigh Valley on 7 hits with no walks and 11 strikeouts. "I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Skaggs said. "I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one." This season, Skaggs has a 4-3 mark in 3 starts with a 2.58 ERA. He has given up 40 hits in 38.1 innings, struck out 40 and issued 5 walks.
