Gilbert Mows Down Buffalo, 9-0 Saturday, August 29th , 2026 The Buffalo Bisons were almost helpless in their 9-0 loss to the Scranton WB RailRiders and hurler Phil Gilbert. Gilbert kept the Bisons confused all game, spinning a 7-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Gilbert," Buffalo manager Mark Budzinski said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 25-year-old right-hander had 1 walk and 3 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Gilbert said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." Up to now Gilbert has compiled an ERA of 5.43 with a 8-11 mark over 21 starts.
