Louisville-Indianapolis Fight Results in Suspensions Monday, August 31st , 2026 Yesterday at Victory Field Juan Ayala and Ernesto Mendoza got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Louisville Bats and Indianapolis Arrows. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Ayala will have to sit out 4 while Mendoza would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. So far this season, Ayala has gotten 81 hits in 334 at-bats for a .243 batting average with 9 home runs. His stats include 40 RBIs and 34 runs scored. He has played in 107 games. To this point in the season Mendoza has 8 wins and 13 losses and a 3.62 ERA. |
